Welcome to Irvine Royal Academy’s school website. This website has been designed to give you up-to-date information about Irvine Royal Academy and aspects of our work across the curriculum.
Our school is a small non-denominational secondary school with a roll of 500 which services the community of Irvine West. Our building is very big but we share it with Ayrshire College and together we provide an excellent experience for the young people of Irvine and North Ayrshire as a whole.
Irvine Royal Academy has been in Irvine for over two hundred years – the original building was built in 1816 and the Royal Charter was granted in 1818. We are looking forward to a programme of events next year to mark the school’s 200th year. The building that we are currently in was previously known as Ravenspark Academy and this became Irvine Royal Academy as we know it today in 1994.
At Irvine Royal Academy we value all of our young people equally and provide them with a range of education programmes and experiences which are designed to meet their needs and prepare them for the next stage of their journey when they leave school.
We always aim to provide excellent opportunities for all our young people with both academic and wider achievement options. We have an excellent Personal Support system which is designed to ensure that your child is safe, healthy, happy and that they are encouraged to achieve and be successful.
I am very privileged to be the Head Teacher of Irvine Royal Academy, and to work with our young people, staff and parents/carers to strive for excellence across all aspects of school life. We have very high expectations and we are ambitious for all members of our school community.
We are always looking for further ways to improve our school community, so please feel free to contact the school.
